Nine Sigma 33s finished the RTI race 2025 on Saturday with another 2 entered but retired.
Congratulations to Toby and Jan Gorman in Princess Jalina with David Palmer as skipper. The former Stan the Boat came 23rd overall in IRC and second in IRC 3B.
Kerry Jeane also featured in the overalls coming 30th out of the 214 monohulls that finished in IRC. Over 800 yachts competed with the historic start line at Cowes, racing over 50 miles around the Isle of Wight.
Another “unseasonably windy” early June saw forecast gusts of up to 35 knots to arrive in the afternoon when they would be running from St Catherines to Bembridge with 3m seas fighting the tide. Not for the faint hearted.
Princess Jalina finished in just under 8 hours corrected to 7:14 - approximately 45 minutes more than the overall monohull winner, the TP52 Jolt 3 owned by Peter Harrison
