Donald McLaren and Sigmatic have won the first race of the 2023 Sigma 33 OOD Class Championships at Helensburgh Sailing Club.
There are 11 Sigmas here with some new crews with Ruairidh Campbell on Sonic, and Jake Miller on his father's Mayrise. James has borrowed Vanderval for the Championships. Jon Fitzgerald and his crew on White Lightning have resurfaced afte a lengthy time away from the Class Championships.
Squawk were second followed by Leaky Roof II and Close Encounters.
It is very different conditions to the last chanpionships here in 2017 with sunshine and 25 degrees/heatwave - not very Scottish at all..
Two races are scheduled for today although there is hope to race more if the wind stays...
