As already noted, Insider won the Volvo DLR Sigma 33 Class prize last weekend and with it the Irish Sigma 33 National title. The final day proved similar conditions to the first three with many opting for white sail down-winds which tbh didn't seem to hamper them too much when the boats were already surfing close to hull speed.

Meanwhile another Sigma 33 - Eamonn Burke & Jason Murray and their team on Leeuwin (also from Howth YC) - were winning the Class 2 non spinnaker IRC & Echo prizes and were also awarded the overall Echo winners prize at Volvo DL regatta.

On the other side of Ireland almost as Westerly as you can race in Europe without a trip to Iceland, Galway Bay Sailing Club hosted WIORA from 5th to 8th of July. The event, sponsored by Dubarry, was held on Inish Mor of the Aran Islands with a respectable 9 boats in Class 1 and 15 boats in Class 2 as well as a number in J24s, Classes 5 and 6 ECHO. The same severe weather conditions as felt on the East coast, unfortunately resulted in two days of racing being cancelled for safety reasons but 4 races were completed.
Mark Wilson and his team on Scorpio from GBSC won Class 2 IRC and were 3rd on ECHO

Apologies for late write up but the writer was broken after 4 days at DLR. Anyone able to post from the South Coast and Cowes Week etc....???? You should be able to post on your phone from the Wix app - Spaces - available on Apple and I assume Android. Or from the Wix Owner app if you're one of the Class reps.
Some more photos from DLR 2023 - it will return in 2025.
